Painted and decaled for a special anniversary excursion train, Amtrak #100 operated in this special post office livery for a period of 18 months (from 1999 - 2000) to commemorate the US Post office Centennial. Amtrak Unit #100 is adorned on all four sides with post office related decorations, including stamps from all across the services' history. The Kobo custom model will replicate this engine as it appeared in 2000, specifically, as the locomotive had at least one major change done to its appearance over its 18 month lifespan wearing these colors.

The Pennsylvania Railroad's GG1 class of electric locomotives were built between 1934 and 1943 at the PRR shops in Altoona, Pennsylvania, with a total of 139 units constructed. They remained in service with the PRR's successors until the early 1980's. The GG1 became one of the most recognized and famous classes of locomotive worldwide.
The then-owned-by-the-PC GG1 #4902 was decorated in a special commemorative gold and blue paint scheme to celebrate the Centennial of the "wedding of the rails", the driving of the Golden Spike which finalized the United States' original transcontinental railroad in 1869. This GG1 pulled the celebratory "Golden Spike Centennial Limited" train during the final leg of its journey in 1969 from Baltimore, MD to New York's Penn Station, arriving there May 18th 1069, the same day that Apollo 10 was making its voyage into Lunar orbit.
Not just paint; the Kobo custom American Railroad GG1 will be modified with redesigned blower ducts that are elevated higher and to the rear of the locomotive number boards. This was done later in the GG1's lifetime to reduce the amount debris that would be sucked into the locomotive as a result of the low body placement, and marks a significant modification that will be done to this model in addition to the paint.
