Era: 1960s to 1990s

In the early sixties, Ford Motor Company, Pullman Standard, and Santa Fe pooled their resources to develop a standard box car to meet the transportation needs of the automotive manufacturers in the United States. Delivered in 1965, Pullman Standard?s version is the most prolific example of this type of auto parts box car that ultimately changed the face of automotive manufacturing and rail transportation.
