This 50? steel side, 15 panel gondola with fixed ends is painted box car red with white lettering, large white ?FRISCO? letters and runs on black Barber? roller bearing trucks. Built as class GBR, 895 of these 100-ton capacity PS-5 cars are equipped to wear covers and were put into steel service. Rebuilding in 1973 included welding the ends closed, replacing side panels and repainting with this ?FRISCO? billboard scheme. These cars survived the merger with Burlington Northern in 1980, and several were still in service well into the 1980s.
