This 40' Hy-Cube box car is painted Milwaukee maroon with the large white Milwaukee Road herald and logo. This car runs on black roller bearing trucks. Seventeen, 40 foot Hy-Cubes were built at Pullman-Standard's Bessemer Plant in October 1967. This series, 4608-4624, is equipped with Evans DF-2 belt rails and rated at the full 4900 cu ft. capacity, reflecting the lack of interior load dividers. They were placed in service and assigned to the NYC at Evansville, IN.
