This 50' PS-1 box car with plug and sliding doors and no roofwalk was built by Pullman-Standard in Michigan City, Indiana in December 1966, and numbered into series 63200-63299. R.I. 63290 has DF2 loaders, cushion underframe and plug and sliding doors. 1965 was the beginning of a transition period for Rock Island freight car lettering schemes. From 1965 through 1970, new and repainted cars received large "Rock Island" block lettering replacing the 1962 RI Herald.
