The EF65 1000 “PF” type was designed for both passenger and high-speed freight service and remained active after the transition from JNR. JR West’s EF65 1000 locomotives retain their classic JNR-era Limited Express livery while featuring several later updates.

Used for transfer and test runs of passenger cars and steam locomotives, event trains, and other special duties, the EF65 1000 is an ideal match for the 35-4000 Series SL “Yamaguchi,” C57 1, D51 200, and more.
