● Item Introduction
The 24 Series Sleeper Express "Hokutosei" debuted in 1988, coinciding with the opening of the Seikan Tunnel connecting Honshu and Hokkaido, as a sleeper express train between Ueno and Sapporo. Its hotel-like service earned it rave reviews, with three round-trip services running at its peak. The passenger cars used for the "Hokutosei" came in a variety of styles and features, including four Oha 25-500 series lobbies operated by JR East from 1988 to 1989. Featuring a shooting star design on the exterior, the interior featured shower rooms and vending machines in addition to a lobby area, adding a touch of luxury to the train.
The lineup now includes a wide variety of HO 24 Series Sleeper Express "Hokutosei" formations.
By combining the newly released Oha 25-500 series with the Hokutosei, you can recreate the Hokutosei No. 3 and No. 4 formations from the era when the Hokutosei ran two round-trips (1999-2006).
