It is most famous for its massive 16-car, 1,634-seat formations and graceful two-story profile. It concluded its regular operations on October 1st, 2021, closing a proud chapter of Japan’s high-speed history. Even now, the E4 remains one of the most distinctive and beloved Shinkansen trains ever built.
