Kato will manufacture the N-scale model of EF65 1000 the late stage with JR mark put on the body at the time of privatization of JNR. EF65 1000 is a general-use DC electric locomotive for operation on plain areas which was designed for control of double heading and operation in cold regions. The locomotive was widely used to draw normal passenger trains, sleeper blue trains and normal or high-speed cargo trains. On the occasion that Seto Great Bridge was built over the Seto Inland Sea and the sleeper limited express “Seto” came to Takamatsu in Shikoku Island, the locomotive was selected thanks to the relatively light wheel axle weight and used as a tractor locomotive for a long time.

As this locomotive is still actually in service, the scale model can be used to pull a wide range of trains, passenger and cargo trains.

It is recommendable to make it pull #10-1484/1485 Series 24-25 Sleeper limited Express “Seto” planned for simultaneous release.

EF65 is a JNR's AC Electric Locomotive, 308 of which were manufactured in 15 years from 1065, to pull freight trains and high speed freight trains on flat railroad areas. EF65 1000s was dubbed PF (Passenger/Freight) meaning usable for either passenger or high speed freight transport and is still operated by JR firms after JNR's division and privatization. It draws these days extra trains for railroad construction and extra passenger trains and steam locomotives for out-of-service or test operation and event trains such as Steam Locomotive train "Yamaguchi", etc. Combine it with 10-1500 Steam Locomotive Train and enjoy.
