Launched in 1999, the Amtrak Acela made history as the first high-speed train service in North America, running between Washington D.C., New York City, and Boston at speeds upwards of 150MPH. Now, just over 20 years later, the Acela® service continues to push the envelope for speed and modernity in the Northeast with the introduction of a new generation of hi-tech trains from Alstom. Based on the latest in high-speed technology, the new Acela will provide a substantial increase in both the speed and capacity on this popular intercity route.

Note: All separate-sale cars feature a prototypical truck and coupling system. They are compatible only with other models in the Bachmann Amtrak Acela II series.
