50' Standard Box Car, Double Doors, w/o Roofwalk

This 50' standard box car with double doors and without roofwalk was built April 1969. #174605 is an ex-Penn Central car and now wears the original Conrail paint scheme. On 'Conrail Day', April 1, 1976, CR inherited this group of 200 Penn Central green cars. Retaining the PC road numbers, CR repainted the cars red oxide with white lettering and removed the roofwalks when shopped July 1976. Practically nothing remains standard on a railroad and the CR box cars are no exception.
