This 56’ general service tank car is black with large orange herald and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1962, this non-insulated petroleum tank car were part of the Gulf Oil 20000-20008 series. At a 20,427 gallon capacity, this car was equipped with heater coils. Gulf Oil traces its roots to 1901 when oil was discovered in Spindletop, Texas. Within 20 years, Gulf had become one of the largest oil companies in the world.
