Previously available only in a bundle set matched up with Amfleet® I cars, Kato will be releasing individual ACS-64 locomotives for modelers to build their fleets! Three new road numbers will be available, including #600, the first ACS-64 to enter Amtrak service which has special “David L. Gunn” (President of Amtrak® from 2002 – 2005) lettering on the nose!

 These locomotives can be joined up with any of Kato’s available Phase VI Amfleet I or Amfleet II cars!

The ACS-64 Sound Card will have a fully stocked library of sounds at the disposal of modelers who put it to use on their Soundbox equipped analog layout, all recorded from the prototype models at their test tracks in Sacramento, CA. Enjoy the smooth sounds of the electric motors and regenerative braking systems as the locomotive speeds up and slows down, the prototypically accurate and distinctive horn, the “swish” of the doors opening and closing, and even the alert beep that sounds off every 60 seconds to make sure that the engineer knows that his silent-running engine is still on. You’ll never get closer to the feeling of piloting an Amtrak electric without climbing into the cab of the real thing!
