In 1966, Seaboard Air Line launched a program to rebuild some of their older offset side hoppers into near-duplicates of the 14-panel hoppers they received from ACF in 1960. As a rule, rib side hoppers have a lower cubic capacity than offset side hoppers but they are easier to build and repair and better resist corrosion. The rebuilt cars were out-shopped in this paint scheme with the ACI tags and con-stencils applied a bit later.
