Our 700 series Lumber Loads are designed to fit the new  HO 60 ft. Center Beam Flat cars
by Exact Rail®. They should fit the McKean Center beam Flat Cars also. The McKean car is out of production.

Uncovered lumber loads for 50 ft flatcars and the longer bulkhead type were produced for customers as they were not available in the hobby industry. Later when manufacturers produced the first and second generation center beam cars, we started producing uncovered lumber loads for those models.  The plan was not to have kits. Built up and READY TO  LOAD was our motto. Our focus was to make an accurate product of a unitized lumber load for a flat car. As time has progressed, we have added a variety of lumber and wood products to our product mix. Presently, we have related wood products as well as lighting products. 

In all cases, we use REAL wood for our lumber products to provide the best prototypical appearance  possible.

Lumber loads by Details-N-Scale fit a large number of lumber railroad cars in the model industry.

   The 500 series was created for the first generation unitized lumber loads that were loaded on 50 ft Flat cars and similar size lengths. As with N scale, 8 variations are presently available for our HO modelers and are ready to load. Flats are too numerous to mention but those HO modelers that would offer a list of present and past models in this category to this webmaster would be much appreciated. These HO loads have weight to them, although lighter than cast loads, some times should have good three point support on the trucks. A Lumber train with a number of these loads will make your locomotive work prototypically like the real thing!

   The 600 Series lumber loads in HO are designed to fit the new Athearn® 60ft bulkhead flat cars that are presently available. The pictures below show our loads on a MDC Roundhouse 60ft. Bulkhead flat car. The loads are in 3,4,and 5 tiers with 8 different configurations. Red painted ends are most common , but we can alter colors for our customers on request. Green and blue are second and third choices requested by some of our HO modelers.  Our shortened version of this series are the 652 series loads.
   
   The 652 Series lumber loads in HO are designed to fit the new Walthers® 50ft Canadian bulkhead flat cars that are presently available. The pictures below show our loads on a Walthers® 50 Bulkhead flat car painted and lettered for British Columbia Railway . The model shown is their international car that interchanged with the Southern Pacific. This car had light green ends and reporting marks BCIT. Our loads are in 3,4,and 5 tiers with 8 different configurations.

   Our 800 series Lumber Loads were originally designed to fit the Walthers® HO 72 ft. Center Beam Flat cars in the "Standard" (open frame) and "Opera" styles. Atlas® has recently produced a 72 ft. Center Beam lumber flat car of the standard or open frame design. In actual size, the model is larger than the Walthers Car by maybe 3 to 6 scale inches. This model is super detailed with grabs and coupler lift bars. Our 800 series in HO will fit fine on this car with a little room to spare.
