This 70’ heavyweight mail baggage car is painted Dark Pullman Green with metalic gold lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. Heavyweight Mail Baggage cars were paired with fleets of 60’ RPO’s and express baggage cars to provide profitable mail services long after passenger business had tapered off. Mail could be picked up in canvas bags and sorted while the train was moving. Built in 1914 the CB&Q saw many years of travelling “Everywhere West” on the Burlington.
