The most common of all boxcars is the 50 ft. boxcar. There are many versions of this size boxcar, made by various manufacturers. They are real workhorses for the railroads and carry all types of cargo. Along with the many variations in design, there are even more variations in paint schemes. The 50 ft. Evans smooth side boxcar entered service in the 1970's and examples remain in service today.
