Dear Customers: we have had a number of customers call and ask images of the CN SW1200's and clarification re the differences between units. Their was confusion between two groups of engines, they both looked the same.
If you are wondering what is the “big? Difference between 500304/500305 and 500308 / 500309?
It is that the 500304/500305 have the “inset” steps (early) and the 500308 / 500309 have the straight steps (late).
There are also small variations too like:
The 500304/500305 have cab front located horns and the 500308 / 500309 have can rood located horns.
Battery box style is dependent on number, either 2 or 3 latches, and the 500304 /500305 have “mid era” hand rails and the 500308 / 500309 have “later era” hand rails.
TrueLine Trains says they are really sorry for the delay, but they decided to release the CN and the CP units together, so they had to change some tooling and make some new slides. It's a limited run, so make sure that you don't miss out!Built from the mid 1950's to the mid 1960's, the EMD SW1200RS has earned a reputation for dependability, durability and long life. Powered by a 12 cylinder, 1200 horsepower 567 engine, these locomotives have been used by large and small railroads, as well as by many industrial facilities.
