Bowser - HO Scale - Executive Line - Alco C430 Locomotive - DCC w/Sound - Lehigh Valley (LV) #436 - July 1968 Scheme (SKU 6-24201)
Available On: September 1, 2016

The C430 is a four axle, 3000 horsepower ALCo locomotive built as part of the "Century" Series. Unfortunately for ALCo, the end was near and sales were poor with only 16 units produced between 1966 and 1968. Even with so few units manufactured, these reliable units have gone on to serve a surprising number of railroads over the years and some remain in service today, over forty years after they were made.
In July of 1968, the Lehigh Valley Railroad Company received ALCo sales proposal "DL OA-306" for 10 Century 430 locomotives with high adhesion trucks. priced at $224,375.00 each. This paint scheme represents Lehigh Valley's intentions if they had purchased the C430.
