This PS-2, 70-ton two-bay covered hopper is painted grey with the “Shadow Keystone” logo and lettering in black and run on black Bettendorf trucks. PRR constructed the 400 class H34A covered hoppers at Altoona during June 1955, using components fabricated by Pullman-Standard. The roof hatches have been moved outward toward the car ends and have been stenciled with the less stylized variation of PRR’s “Calendar” font. The H34-types were the first PRR covered hopper cars to be turned out new in gray paint with black stenciling.
