     In July 1979, the Longview, Portland & Northern Railroad took delivery of 100 of these 50' rib side box cars with double doors and without roofwalk. The cars were built alongside a Southern Pacific order at the FMC plant in Portland, Oregon. Number LPN 52079 is painted orange with blue lettering, and red and blue 'We Love Oregon' slogan. The 152,000 lb capacity box car is equipped with Barber roller-bearing trucks. The LP&N was incorporated in 1922 as the rail-shipping arm of the International Paper Company, and the road saw its last active service in early 2001 after the closing of IPC's mill in Gardiner, Oregon.
