Kanotex Refining Company, a regional oil refinery and petroleum products distributor, began operation in Caney, Kansas in 1909. The Kan-O-Tex name referred to Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas as the states in which the company originally marketed its products. This 39’ Single Dome Tank Car is the first release in the Oil Tank Car Series. It is painted black with white lettering and runs on black Arch Bar Trucks. Kanotex #503 is a Class 2 tank car from series 501-506 and was built in 1915 with a capacity weight of 80,000
