Through the 1970s, the Paducah Shops of the Illinois Central rebuilt worn oui EMD GP7 & GP9 locomotives into the GP-10. The InterMountain Railway Company HO Scale GP-10 locomotive will be manufactured with finely moldec parts that have been designed to reproduce railroad specific details; such as HORST Air Filter, Horizontal Nose Headlight, Extended RighMront Tool Box, 8 Engine Access Hatches on the roof.

The model features include:

- Prototype specific details to match the cab, the trucks, short hoods, Dynamic Brakes, the rear lights, etc, particular to each road name
- Etched metal details; wire grab irons
- Laser sharp paint and lettering
- Kadee Couplers
