This 50’ rib side box car is painted sky blue and was built in 1978 by FMC in Portland, OR. Rock Island’s following was significant enough to have a song named after it. For all of the fame and recognition The Rock received, it didn’t translate into financial success. Throughout it’s history it went into receivership several times, finally in 1975. It would be liquidated five years later in 1980.
