UP C45ACCTE #7964 GE 5,000th Evolution Series Locomotive, with PTC antenna farm

Union Pacific C45ACCTE #7964 got some special decals placed on the nose and radiator sides noting this unit as the 5,000th General Electric Evolution Series locomotive. It is hard to believe that 5,000 GEVOs now operate across the USA, Canada, Australia, China, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Brazil. Seems like such a short time back when we went to Erie to photograph the GE ES44AC #2005 and early productions for BNSF and UP GEVO units in 2003. Now just under ten years later GE has reached the 5,000 locomotive point in its production.

Overland Models will produce the UP #7964 C45ACCTE and also complete a few other road numbers in standard UP paint and lettering. This unit is part of the 2012 production and features yet again more changes to the details. As most of you know GE is fond of changing details and Overland Models will deliver.
