These 33’ smooth side twin bay open hoppers with offset sides and coal loads are painted brown with black-and-white ‘Circle/Cross’ heralds with white lettering. They were built in March 1941 by General American Transportation Corp. and run on Bettendorf trucks. To satisfy America’s industrial hunger for coal, the economical offset-side design was adapted for greater capacity.
