This 36’ wood-sheathed ice reefer with truss rod underframe is painted brown with reefer orange sides and black and white logos. Lettering is in white. The car was built in 1910 and traveled the Midwest from 1910 and into the 1920s on Archbar trucks. Typical of late 19th century construction, the Evansville Packing Co. EPX 54 has the elaborate and colorful paint and hand lettering promoting “May Blossom” lard and “Battleship” hams and bacon.
