This Evans 100 ton three-bay covered hopper with elongated hatches is painted aluminum and bears the blue and yellow ‘wheat stalk’ logo with blue SOO LINE. It is lettered in black. This hopper was built in December 1967 by Transco Corporation and ran the Midwest on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Five hundred cars comprised the series 70451 to71449 (odd numbers only). The cars remained in this number series for the Soo Line well into the 1990s.
