This 34’ wood sheathed caboose with slanted cupola is painted brown with orange ends and white herald and lettering. It was built in December 1928 and runs on swing motion caboose trucks. This railroad was originally chartered as the Sabine and Galveston Bay Railroad and Lumber Company in 1856; the name was later changed to the Texas and New Orleans Railroad in 1859. In 1881 C. P. Huntington, acting for the Southern Pacific Railroad Company, bought the Texas and New Orleans, making the Southern Pacific her parent company. In 1961 it was merged with parent company Southern Pacific and ceased to exist as a separate entity.
