The view is from the bank of the Bow River just west of Banff on a fine September afternoon. The quiet scene is momentarily disturbed by the passing of a westbound freight noisily accelerating away from the station. Nine miles away the summit of Mt. Bourgeau rises to nearly ten thousand feet.
