Micro-Trains - Z Scale - 40' Box Car - Single Door - Western Pacific (WP) # 19505 - aluminum with orange feather and black lettering - (Sept 2010) (SKU 489-50000080-run-2)

 

    This 40’ box car with single door is painted aluminum with large orange feather emblem and black lettering. It was built in November 1951 by Pullman-Standard, serviced in 1952, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. In 1951, WP ordered 600 PS-1 boxcars from Pullman-Standard, numbered 20801-21400. The cars appeared in WP’s standard paint scheme, a plain box car red with silver reporting marks and the square feather herald on the right side of the car. The first 20 cars however were re-numbered at Pullman in 1952 to 19501-19520. They had Compartmentizers added and were painted completely all-over aluminum with a large new orange feather emblem across the side and door.
