These 40’ box cars with Youngstown doors, roofwalks carry different bag loads. They are painted “B&O Post-War Oxide” and bear the B&O “13 Great States Capital Dome” heralds and white lettering. They were built by Pressed Steel Car Co. in June 1947 and run on Bettendorf trucks. B&O’s one thousand M-55 class cars numbered into this series were based on a 1944 AAR design. When they were built by Pressed Steel Car Co. in 1947, they were painted in B&Ois “post-war oxide red”, common through the 1950s.
