In a precursor to today's mega-mergers, The Chessie System (itself a merger of the Baltimore and Ohio and the Chesapeake and Ohio) merged with the Seaboard System (Seaboard Air Line, Louisville and Nashville, and Atlantic Coast Line) to form one railroad to serve the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. As might be expected, a merger of this many diverse roads produced some interesting paint variations, and PWRS has captured them!
