Delaware & Hudson began acquiring these 14-Panel 70 ton cars in 1958. They were used for coal and ilmenite service for many years. In fact during D&H ’s big expansion (the result of trackage rights granted by the newly created Conrail) the line picked up more of these cars to serve the expanded system.
