Entered into service in 1961, the G39/ G39a Ore car replaced Penny's G38 for hauling pelletized ore. These cars were quite durable and lasted well into the Conrail era. Some soldiering on for more than thirty plus years. This model features finely molded separately applied details with Operating Knuckle Couplers and Nickel Silver Metal Wheel Sets.
