Making its debut in 1993, the series E351 is a JR train newly put into opperation as "Super Azusa". This new train replaces ite predecessors Series 183 and 189, used as Express "Azusa" on the Ohua o mainline
The "Super Azusa" was the first to employ the "controlled natural pendulum" system while running the many curves of the Chuo mainline between Shinjuk in Tokyo and Matsumoto in Nagang, traveling the full route in 2 hours and 48 minutes at the fastest. The model version replicates the swing action to create smoother tracking and movement on the rails.
