RedC ab - HO Scale - Southern Pacific 54' EVANS COIL CAR (BROWN) (10 numbers from 1st run, 2 new numbers) Fall 2007 (SKU 629-32512-run2)

Evans 100-Ton, Type 4 Coil Cars

1968 found the first 100 ton coil Cars built to the fourth series specifications. These Cars can be easily identified as they have the straight frame while earlier Cars(series 1-3) had a slight 'fish belly' or 'drop' frame. The type 4 design was in production from 1968 through 1975. Over 2,250 cars of this design with different covers (round, angled, corrugated and fiberglass) were built during this time period for many 'fallen flag' railroads such as the CB&Q, B&O, IC, RDG and SP (over 15 railroads bought this series of car).

Many of these cars can now be seen with new paint schemes on the BNSF, CSX, NS and UP. Newly merged into the NS and CSX, Conrail cars can now be found with their CR reporting marks painted out and NYC and PRR reporting marks replacing them. And will we see the IC/ICG/IC coil cars painted in CN since the old IC has now been merged?

Over 20 class one, original owner railroad schemes to be offered, plus numerous post-merger names and schemes.

RTR cars come with the hoods in place, but can be removed if the consumer pulls straight up carefully so that details can be added.

The second run will include ten of the previous run's road numbers and two new road numbers. Southern Pacific only had fourteen of these cars. To be prototypically correct, Red Caboose could only add two new road numbers. If you only want the new road numbers when ordering, be specific and state that when ordering.
