This Chinese red 50? steel side, 15 panel, fixed end gondola with low cover has large white ?Burlington? letters, red and black Burlington Route logo and runs on black roller bearing trucks. Built in January of 1958, as a class GM-4A, Burlington rebuilt the 25 cars in this series in April of 1959 at their Havelock shops by raising the sides and ends 14? and adding roofs, bulkheads and wood floors. The cars kept their original numbers and were reclassified GM-4C with an increased capacity of 2,259 cu. ft.
