This 40' box car with single door is painted Pullman Green with Omaha Orange stripes on sides and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. One of a 25 car series built by Great Northern in their St. Cloud shops in March of 1948, this car displays the orange and green "loader" paint scheme introduced in the mid 1950's. This series was part of a 1000 car order GN had built in 1948. These express box cars were frequently coupled to the rear of the consist in order to more easily drop the car at its destination.
