Pulpwood is used in the production of paper products. It is tree limbs cut to a specific length and comes free any tree at hand. During the paper making process, it is turned into wood pulp and used to make a wide variety of paper products. Initially, paper plants were built near forested areas for easy access to trees. As these sources were exhausted, new sources at greater distances were needed. Transport by rail was the most practical and efficient means to get the pulpwood to the mills. So this resulted in the development of pulpwood cars.
This particular type of car was developed in the 1940's, but has gone on to have a long service life with examples still in use in the 1990's.
This release includes six schemes with three road numbers available for each.
