The transport of new cars from factories by train has been going on for decades. In the early days, cars were transported in the open. But this could result in damage to the cars. Gradually new cars were developed and the modern auto rack style of car was developed, then enclosed.

These Intermountain versions of the enclosed bi-level auto rack are fully featured with working end doors and many other features. They will look great on any current era layout and are available in a variety of road names with multiple road numbers available for each.
