Attention HO Scale Modelers:

Normally when a model is announced for future release, modelers have a 30-45 days period, in which to place guaranteed orders. This allows all modelers to order cars. This is particularly true with a first run of a new model.

This is not the case with this model. Atlas will take delivery of the container in a matter of weeks. This means there will no guaranteed order period. Atlas will only have a limited number of these models available. With this in mind, it will be first come, first served. PWRS will make every effort possible to fill all orders, but with the limited number of cars available, some modeler orders may not be able to be filled.

Atlas did not state why they had made this decision on this product.

From 1975 to 1980 National Steel Car built over one-thousand 50’6” single-plug door box cars. Most of the 100-ton cars went to Canadian railroads primarily for paper service. Two hundred 70-ton cars went into food service for the Grand Trunk Western. the models have a number of variations corresponding to the prototype.

This release includes two undecorated versions and four road numbers in three schemes.
