Chill out with the Athearn Genesis FGE Reefer, the first Genesis freight car available with onboard sound—the genset or refrigeration unit runs on DC or DCC and actually cycles on and off automatically.

The reefer is available “as-delivered” or “modernized.” The genset is visible through the see-through screens on the as-delivered reefers. The modernized versions have tractor-trailer-style refrigeration units.

This release includes road numbers in a variety of schemes, all available in both non-sound and sound equipped versions.
