Astaple of modern liquids transport, the tank car is an essential part of every railroads rolling stock. Also run, by numerous private operators, there are many types in use today. These 30 foot, 8,000 gallon cars are smaller than most other tank cars today, but fill an important niche for chemical transport. They first entered service decades ago, but continue in use today.
