GE Evolution Series ES44AC

Overland Models recently visited General Electric in Erie, PA to photograph three new GE Productions for Canadian National ES44AC (OMI #AA-1640), CITIRAIL Leasing ES44AC (OMI #AA-1641) and Kansas CIty Southern ES44AC (OMI #AA-1642) locomotives. 

The CN ES44AC marks the production of the first ES44AC type locomotive as all previous GE and EMD orders have been for DC type units. Unfortunately they were only able to photograph the front of the unit and many details.

The CITIRAIL ES44AC units will be pressed into service as a leasing arm of CITIBANK. 

The KCS ES44AC units are numbered in the 4790s through the early 4800s and should now be delivering to KCS.

These three units will be part of a 2014 OMI production, as the current GE Evolution Series HO scale production is already in motion.
