We have a customer who has the means and the desire to run some really big BC Rail coal trains, and we do mean REALLY BIG. He was not satisfied with just the 24 road numbers for BC Rail we were offering in the first release.
Our customer asked if we could do some partially numbered cars so he could number them as he wished to run big BC Rail unit coal trains. How big? Try 100 cars with BCOL lettering and 100 cars with the CN Noodle under the Dogwood Logo.
Remember, some of the cars were paid for by the BC Government and have the letters "BCOL" under the Dogwood Logo. The balance of the cars were paid for by CN and have a CN "Noodle" under the Dogwood Logo.
That is a 200 plus car unit train. While many modelers might dream and wish to run trains that size, it is not practical. However, there are many customers who can run trains that have more cars then are being offered in our first release.
Remeber, the cars have been used on BC Rail since 1984, and are presently used on CN. So if you model BC Rail or CN (since 2004) you can certainly justify extra cars. Notice the image above of the 3 CN pulling over 150 of our cars.
We are going to run these extra 200 cars for our customer. So, if you would like to run some longer BC Rail Coal trains, or some really longer trains, we are taking orders for these cars. But hurry, we have to have our final numbers for production by August 7, 2012.
