On Wednesday June 27 around 5pm the final six Norfolk Southern SD70ACe Heritage units were southbound just north of Oakville, IN behind an NS SD60M.  Brian Marsh, Overland Models Inc. image

Overland Models Inc. has provided the photos for the final three SD70ACe units, recently delivered to Norfolk Southern.

The Norfolk Southern - Penn Central  SD70ACe is the 18th Heritage unit and the eighth NS Heritage SD70ACe unit. This unit was out of sequential order and was actually the 9th when counting by road number. The #1073 paint scheme is Brunswick Green with white lettering/ logo and road number along with a black underframe and trucks.

The Norfolk Southern - Illinois Terminal SD70ACe is the 19th Heritage unit delivered and the ninth NS Heritage SD70ACe unit. This unit was out of sequential order and was actually the 8th when counting by road number. The #1072 paint scheme is bright green with yellow barricade stripes on the front and rear, road numbers and lettering, red shadow details on the I and T of Illinois Terminal and silver underframe, cab roof sides and air horn.

The Norfolk Southern - Delaware, Lackawanna and Western SD70ACe is the 20th and final Heritage unit delivered and the 10th NS Heritage SD70ACe unit. The Lackawanna unit was a fitting unit to conclude the series as it is a beautiful unit with classic lines and great color. The #1073 paint scheme is grey, maroon, yellow and black with white lettering on the front and rear logos.
