Dear HO Modelers, some time ago TrueLine Train announced their new Canadian 8 Hatch Steel Reefers. We were contacted by TrueLine Trains this morning and the CP and BC Rail/ PGE versions of thse cars are in.

They are all sold out at TrueLine.

We will be getting all of our cars in about 7-10 days. Below you will see information about the single BC Rail Reefer, which we have obtained extra copies of.

Important: We are almost sold out of all the cars, their are 1 or 2 complete six car sets left of each of the 4 different six car sets, and a few singles.

We know we have many new customers who have become PORTERS member in the last 12 months, since these cars were announced. So if you want cars please do so now!

Previous info re the single BC RaiL Reefer:

We raised one important issue with Hobbycraft, namely the issue of selling the cars in assortments to Stores.

 If you have a look at the PGE/ BC Rail assortment, we (PWRS) are required to buy 6 car sets, of the cars. When all the cars in the set are the same (within the assortment), we can try and split the cars (with different road numbers) between our customers.

But when the cars are painted, or are graphically differently, it creates a problem for us. A number of customers have complained, they do not want to be forced to buy 5 PGE cars, just to get one green BC Rail car. Also we do not want to split up sets only to be left with a large qty of unsold PGE cars.

Hobbycraft also can not be expected to make a six pack of the BC Rail car as BC Rail only had one road number painted green. And only 5 cars ever appeared in the brown PGE paint scheme - thus the 6 cars (5+1) are packaged together to make up the 6 car assortment. 

 We talked to Hobbycraft about the problem on Friday. We suggested, they produce "X" number of 6 cars sets. And a "Y" amount of additional cases of the single BC Rail car. This will allow customers to buy the single BC Rail and order what ever qty of the  PGE car they require without having to buy all 5.

Hobbycraft has agreed to allow us to advertise the 6 car set and singles.  If orders warrant they will make additional singles of the one green BC Rail 8 Hatch Reefer (They have).

So for those of you who have commented to us in the past about this problem, here is your chance to send a message to the manufacturer. They are watching to see how many of you order the single car and singles of the PGE cars vs how many of you buy complete 6 car sets.

And if you want to order a single of the green BC Rail Reefer please use 1044-300506-1.

And if you want 1 - 5 of the different single PGE cars please use 1044-300506-5. (Don't forget to input how many of the PGE cars you want before you check out.)
