Built from the mid 1950's to the mid 1960's, the EMD SW1200RS has earned a reputation for dependability, durability and long life. Powered by a 12 cylinder, 1200 horsepower 567 engine, these locomotives have been used by large and small railroads, as well as by many industrial facilities. EMD Canada built nearly 300 units for Canadian buyers. Today, there are many examples of this locomotive still hard at work for a variety of owners.
