Athearn's Ready To Roll, Roundhouse, and N Scale are Back in Production!

Many of the items that were delayed in 2011 and 2012, due to the closing an Athearn factory in China, are now being re-announced.

Horizon (the owner of Athearn) is happy to share that they've been able to reduce the retail price for 2/3 of the products. For example, N scale F59PHi diesel locomotives with sound were $259.98 and are now $219.98. HO SD40-2s were $154.98 and are now $134.98. While they were able to reduce or hold the retail for 85% of the products, some models experienced an increase.

Importantly, Horizon has also made changes to the pricing structure for the Athearn retailers, including PWRS.

For customers that already have these products on order, you will not need to re-order, however, due to the changes in pricing and pricing structure mentioned above, your final price with PWRS may have changed. Customers affected will be notified of these changes, and given an opportunity to change their order, without penalty, until November 15th. That being said, we are finding that in the majority of cases, the end result is working in the customer's favour.

Horizon has ordered a healthy amount of additional inventory and will have extra models available. Our deadline to preorder locomotives, rolling stock, and vehicles has been extended to November 30th. Please note that Horizon already has their productions set, so we urge you not to delay in placing your orders. In some instances the item may be sold out earlier.
